I heard the name of creative matter for the first time while studying in class four. At that time, the Ministry of Education proposed to apply a new method at the secondary and higher secondary education levels, which is basically this creative question method . In the beginning, I understood to be creative, a question will have 4 parts, one line should be written for each number, one line for one number or four lines for four numbers. I was introduced to the full creative process for the first time in my life after coming to class six. Honestly, it was a horrible experience. For the first time in my life I had to leave almost 8 marks blank due to lack of service time. It was then that “this creative thing cannot be taken lightly.”
Those of you who have studied in school and college know the A-to-Z of Creative Questioning. These days thousands of posts are coming out on social media about whether or not they can write answers to 7 creative questions. It is true that it is quite difficult to keep penning page after page. But another truth is that if you adopt a little strategy, this pain will be reduced a lot. And for that, you need to know the rules of answering creative questions in the right way.
Creative questions and answers, rules of reading stimuli and correct use of stimuli, creative questions and answers of different patterns, these are the main topics of today’s blog.
Let’s find out:
Structure of Creative Question Answering
Each creative question has 4 levels. The levels are:
- cognitive,
- perceptual,
- applied,
- Highly efficient .
The Creative Method of General Mathematics or Higher Mathematics again has 3 levels of questions instead of 4: Cognitive, Applied and Higher Skill. Each question is accompanied by a passage. Subjects like Bengali, Islamic Education or Bangladesh and World Identity usually have different questions compared to the passages. But the passage is very important in mathematics. Because the rule of writing creative questions is that most of the time in mathematics you have to answer the question using information from the passage.

There are some rules for writing answers to creative questions. If you think that you can get marks only by writing page after page, it is definitely wrong . After spending hours and hours of writing, you may find that the boy next to you has scored several times more than you. But what is the reason for this? The reason is that many of us do not know the correct rules for answering creative questions. The rules of writing creative questions include maintaining the beauty of the notebook, presenting theory-based information in sentence structure, clarity in question-answers, coordination of textbooks and stimulation in creative areas, etc.
Creative question type | value | How many paragraphs should be answered? | How much time should be given? |
cognitive | 1 | 1 (1-2 lines) | 1 minute |
Perceptual | 2 | 2 | 3-4 minutes |
cognitive | 3 | 3 | 6-7 minutes |
applied | 4 | 3-4 | 8-9 minutes |
total | 10 | – | 18-21 minutes |
There are different creative question writing rules for the 4 parts of the question as well. Apart from following these rules, care should be taken to ensure that the complete creative writing does not take more than 20-22 minutes. If you write the answer to one creative question within 20 minutes, you will see that the entire writing will be completed within the allotted time of the exam. Let’s know the rules and time allocation for writing creative question answers:
Rules for Writing Answers to Creative Questions: Cognitive Questions
Answers to questions in this section will be the shortest. To be more specific, it is best to answer the questions in this section in one line. Many people write answers to cognitive questions in one word. Although this method is not wrong according to the rules of writing creative questions, many teachers discourage writing answers in one word. Cognitive questions usually come from books. It can be assumed that the stimulus passage does not match the questions in this section.
Time: 1 minute
Rules for Writing Answers to Creative Questions: Comprehension Questions
This section sometimes gives questions from the book, and sometimes the questions may be stimulating. As per the rules of writing creative questions, the comprehension question should be done in two parts, because the mark distribution for this question is also 2. 2 parts of the answer should be written in para form. In the first part of the paragraph some cognitive answers can be given in line with the question. The main answer to the question should be written in the next part.
